Janice English

After moving to the Gunnison area from Nebraska in 1979, I began my career in banking as a teller at another local institution. I joined Gunnison Savings and Loan in 1991 as a receptionist and loan processor, later taking a position of loan officer and in 2001 was promoted to Vice President. I have enjoyed the opportunities I have had to assist members of our community to reach their dream of home ownership. Our Association offers a variety of loan programs to meet the needs of the people who live and work here. Because we are a locally owned institution we take pride in the customer service we offer.

I enjoy the small town atmosphere of Gunnison and the surrounding mountain communities which offer many activities year round. Our family enjoys horseback riding, camping, hiking and snowmobiling.

Brenda Alagna

Originally from Wisconsin, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992. Wanting to give myself some time off to relax and explore my passion for the outdoors, I moved out to Colorado with my (now) husband. I guess we enjoyed the beautiful blue skies too much, because we were never able to move back.

As a resident of the Crested Butte area since 1999 and the Branch Manager of Crested Butte Savings & Loan, I've established wonderful relationships that will stay with me forever. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to live and work in this beautiful valley, and serve the community I love so well.

Mike Schumacher

Born and raised in Minnesota, I moved to Colorado in 1994. Like most that move here, I fell in love with the mountains, the 300 days of sunshine each year, and the seemingly endless amount of recreational activities at one’s disposal. In 2000, after my final semester attending the University of Colorado at Boulder, I pursued some career opportunities out of state, prior to finding my way back to Colorado in 2007, and to Gunnison in 2008. I feel so fortunate to live in this gorgeous valley and to work in this great community. When I was hired on as the Senior Loan Officer in 2009, I brought 9 years of mortgage and business banking experience with me. My primary goal when working with our customers is to ensure that their experience with our Association is an excellent and enjoyable one.

Michelle Dominguez

I came to Gunnison in 1993 to attend Western State College. After a brief time away, I returned to Gunnison and began a career with GSL. I started as a teller at Gunnison Savings and Loan in 1996, and have been in the Loan Department since 1998. I have worked with a variety of clients, both on the teller line and in the loan department, and have always strived to provide a friendly face, and a strong work ethic to provide the best customer service I can. Our staff does work hard for its customers, and we very are proud to be a locally owned institution.

Since joining the GSL team, I have gotten married, bought several different homes, had three children, and grown substantially in my knowledge base and ability to help customers. The Gunnison Valley is a wonderful place to be, and raise our family. We are very lucky to live in and be a part of this community.

Carleen White

As a loan officer with 22 years of experience in the housing industry, I continue to learn and grow with the support of Crested Butte Savings and Loan.

Having had the opportunity to work in non-profit housing agencies and mortgage brokerages, my experience in the housing finance industry is well rounded. I’m intricately familiar with the entire loan process including loan processing, underwriting, originating and loan closing. In Rhode Island, I was the Finance Director for a non-profit housing agency where I developed and ran financing programs for first-time homebuyers, foreclosure intervention and home repair loans, and led first-time homebuyer clubs. I also worked for the R.I. State Housing Finance Corporation where I managed the home repair and lead hazard reduction programs.

Originally from the Ocean State, but now tucked away in this valley surrounded by the Rockies, a dream has come true. With a beautiful home, wonderful friends and family, I couldn’t be happier riding my Mustang pony with my dog, Blue, running along.
